Store in a breatheable garment bag, away from heat and light.
The fur will be bleached by the sunlight if not properly stored.
Take it to a furrier as soon as possible if it got on the skin below the fur. Otherwise, shake off the excess liquid. Take a damp washcloth and gently wipe the fur with the grain and then side to side to get the sticky off the fur.
Male pelts are wider and heavier than female pelts. A full length coat requires many pelts, higher quality coats are made with female pelts. Letting out the pelts is a process by which the pelts are cut in thin strips and sewn back together giving the pelts more strength and makes the fur stand up rather than lay down flat as it grows, for a more fluffy and luxurious look and feel.
It is a simple process that can be easily done by following these pictures. Click here.
